2013: My First Post Ever

The One Thing That Makes Me Different

In a world where there are over 31 million bloggers in the United States alone, why in the world would I want to start a blog? I mean, I am 23 years old, just received my Bachelors degree last year, got married eight months ago, and now I have a daughter on the way. But think with me for a moment. There have probably been numerous people in the same situation that I am in! So why start a blog?

Is there really something else that I can write that hasn’t already been written? Do I really think I am that smart… or witty… to start my own blog that people would actually want to read?

These are all questions I asked myself. All these questions leading to why I shouldn’t write a blog. Then, I came to the conclusion that I should start a blog. “Why?” you ask. Well, thanks for asking.

I have something that no one else has. I have one thing that makes me different than everybody else.

A voice.

Sure. Everyone has a voice. But no one has my voice. See what I did there?

Through this blog, I am going to be posting thoughts on life, ministry, and the pursuit of Godliness. If you are sitting in class right now, relaxing in your office, reading this during your lunch break, or stumbled upon this from Twitter, I hope that these posts are like sitting at Starbucks and grabbing a cup of coffee together.

I don’t have an agenda. I don’t have something I’m trying to sell. I just have my voice.

Whether you’re a student in school, someone just starting your career, a parent or grandparent, Christian or Atheist—my goal is that these posts will challenge your perspective and give you an opportunity to view life in a different way.
